When you create a new item, you do not need to start with a blank form. There may be some cases when you want to copy an item that was on a previous meeting agenda for one board to a future meeting agenda of a different board and then edit the item to update it for the destination meeting.

When is this useful?Sometimes an item may need to be acted upon by more than one board. Instead of creating an entirely new item, you can copy it from one board to another. For example, an item that was on a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting agenda may need to later be on a City Council meeting agenda.

Agendease gives you an easy way to copy items from one meeting to the other.

Step 1:

In the Show Items area of the dashboard click 'Add an Item' button and select hover your mouse pointer above the name of the board for which you want to create the item.

Step 2:

When the menu expands to display the item create method choices, click on Copy an item from a different board's meeting to a board name meeting.

Step 3:

Select the board which you want to copy the item from one of its meetings (the origin item).

Step 4:

If you know the source meeting in which the item to be copied is, click the drop-down menu and select the meeting.

The items in the meeting will be displayed below the drop-down menu.

Step 5:

Click the item that you want to copy

If you do not know the source meeting in which the item to be copied is, you can search for it.

How do I search for an item in another meeting? To search for an item that is in another meeting, follow the instructions in this article.

The selected item will be displayed below the drop-down menu.

Step 6:

Click the Next button

Step 7:

Choose the destination meeting and the destination region.

Step 8:

If the destination board has more than one item type in use, a drop-down menu of available item types will be displayed. Choose the one that you want to use.

If the destination board has only one item type in use (or after you choose the destination item type from the drop-down menu), the sections from the origin item will be displayed on the left side, and the sections for the destination item will be displayed on the right.

Step 9:

Grab the content (blue text) of an item section on the left side, drag it and drop it on the item section on the right side in which you want that content to appear.

What content can I drag from left to right? The example image shows the left-side content titled "Prepared By" being dragged onto the right-side content titled "Prepared By" and the left-side content titled "Item Background" being dragged onto the right-side content titled "Item Background", but you can drag any content from the left to any content on the right, regardless of the content's title.

Step 10:

Click the Finish button to copy the item to the destination meeting.
